Basic Tick Spray Tips

Be sure the tick spray you're using is appropriate for the application you have in mind.

DEET may be sprayed directly on skin. It is designed to repel keep ticks away and discourage them from biting and attaching to the skin.

Permethrin is an insecticide designed to kill ticks. It should NOT BE APPLIED TO SKIN--only to clothing or areas where ticks are likely to be found.

"Natural" or "herbal" like citronella repellents are generally good for keeping away mosquitoes, but are not generally effective for ticks and fleas.
