Tips for Using a Tick Control Dip

Make sure the tick dip you're using is appropriate for your pet. Read directions carefully because a tick dip that's great for a dog may be harmful to a cat.

Tick dips are generally inappropriate for puppies and kittens under 12 weeks old. Again, read and follow directions.

Tick and flea dips are most appropriate for large dogs. It's generally more advisable to treat small dogs with sprays, which are cheaper, easier to use and generally more effective.

Some dips have a smell and shouldn't be used with pets that spend most of their time indoors.
